No cookie is set by this website — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences, and not for security. Nothing on these pages writes one, and no third party is in a position to, because the pages make no requests to anybody else.

This is why there is no consent banner. A banner that asks permission for nothing is a worse answer than a page that tells you there is nothing to permit.

One preference, on your device

The site does store one thing locally: whether you have used the freeze control to stop the hero film. It is kept in your browser’s local storage under a single key, so that a reader who has asked the motion to stop does not have to ask again on the next page.

Local storage is not a cookie. It is never attached to a request, so it never leaves your device and the server never sees it. It holds a preference you set with a control on the page, identifies nobody, and is removed whenever you clear this site’s data in your browser settings.

Nothing is loaded from anywhere else

Typefaces, the film, the images and every other asset come from this domain. There is no font network, no content delivery network, no embedded video player and no social widget — which is the usual way a site that sets no cookies of its own ends up carrying somebody else’s.

If this ever changes

If the site ever needs a cookie, this page will say so before one is set, and anything that is not strictly necessary will ask you first. The date at the top is the date of the last substantive revision.
